LSU 28 USC 8
The match was hard fought throughout with both sides missing key players. LSU kept USC on their heels most of the day and put in two tries with conversions in each half, and using a tough defense to hold USC to a try and penalty kick in the second half. LSU was able to harness the wind to their advantage in the kicking game and between a solid showing from LSU and not allowing USC to capitalize in key situations, LSU was able to prevail. USC will be looking to host Tennessee next week while LSU will be utilizing the week to rest.
Tennessee 20 Florida 12
Florida couldn’t escape history as the No. 17 Tennessee Volunteers scraped out a 20-12 victory over the No. 4 Gators in Gainesville. Tennessee was able to use the size of their forwards to help control the pace of the game and spread the ball to their backline. Both sides squandered a few scoring opportunities with knock-ons and penalties in what was a frustrating day for both sides. The Gators improved their tackling and did a decent job rucking, but are aiming to improve their fitness and support. Florida hosts Vanderbilt this Saturday before traveling to Lexington to take on Kentucky next week while Tennessee will be looking forward to a grueling match with USC.
Ole Miss 27 Auburn 12
The Rebels have had a strong showing early in the season and continued this weekend against Auburn. Auburn never really seemed to get things going until a costly sin bin for the Rebels in which Auburn pulled together and began closing the halftime defecit. Auburn’s pack played hard and tested Ole Miss, but with time running down, the Rebels tightened up their defense and sealed the victory. Auburn came into the game a favorite, and is using this week to rework some of their chemistry issues while looking forward to an Iron Bowl match-up in Tuscaloosa this weekend against long standing rivals Alabama. Ole Miss will be back in conference play next weekend, using this weekend to get healthy and prepare for Vandy.
Alabama 29 Mississippi State 7

With injuries to their fullback, they were often less than full strength, at which, Alabama was able to capitalize. MSU came out of the gates a bit slow and Alabama was able to jump out front and sustain their lead through fairly disciplined play. On a windy day in Tuscaloosa, the home team was able to pull away with a victory and looks forward to hosting Auburn this week in a crucial game for both sides.
LSU 31 Alabama 10
